I have a 2000 Chevy S-10 4cyl, timing chain broke a year ago had it replaced, it just broke again why?
Ran & starts good, rattle in engine when running.

Timing chains never break unless something serious is wrong, like badly worn gears, a faulty tensioner, etc. ALL these parts should be replaced if you're replacing the chain.

You may have a cam bearing going out, which would put undue stress on the chain.
