Hell yeah they are, I wouldn't even call it a secret at this point... Its not just escaping a good chunk of his salary but also the fact that he is a clubhouse cancer and the Yankees know they are better off without him in the lineup...
BQ - I think they will. Everything is starting to align in a way that you'd think in a couple years its all but certain.
BQ2 - Maybe.

Yeah they will be stoked but they (ownership and management will try to appease and do it respectfully) The yankees organization might love there own but A-Fraud is their own . Remember and never forget a few years back there was the speculation of charging Giambi and trying to invalidate his masive contract. Your key word is secretly and it could well happen. Teams love you even Bonds if your $ in their pocket right now $ are going into A pocket and the Yankees are feeling the pinch in the purse.

Not only they are gonna be thrilled but they are gonna be pissed at ARod because he hasn't played 1 game this season and he is on the verge of getting suspended 100 games as soon as he comes off the DL. The Yanks are paying him alot of money for this season and he probably won't even play this season.

Alex has performed poorly and has disgraced the Yankees with all these PED allegations, I wish he would just retire and leave the game for good. MLB has no place for cheaters.

I hope not. Nothing would please me more than to see the yankees suffer miserably.
