The way most refrigerators work is there's a manual adjustable opening between the refrigerator compartment and the freezer compartment. That opening is closed or blocked somehow.

It is my understanding that this occurs also when the freezer door is left open - maybe something was too big for the compartment and stopped the door sealing. It happened with mine - by the way a great fridge/freezer unit - and because the insulation is so good the ice in the airways did not melt after a whole day of door open so I removed the inside back panel and discovered all three airways solid with ice and the radiator was still extremely frosted.

The first guy was right. The drain hole is blocked. You probably spilled an ice tray in the freezer or something. Easy fix is to empty the freezer and unplug for about 4 hours to make sure all ice in the freezer melts . Now its the ice under the freezer deck thats blocking the drain hole. Thats why you need to leave the freezer off for so long.
