CCI Stinger - 32 grain HP / 1640 fps / 191 ft-lb
higher pressure, high velocity with reduced sized bullet
But the drawback is that the small bullet loses velocity quickly, at 50 yards it's outstipped by a different CCI load. the higher pressure makes it unsafe for or damaging some semiautos to shoot.
CCI Velocitor - 40 grain HP / 1440 fps / 184 ft-lb
standard bullet, increased velocity, normal pressure
this is the hottest load that is safe for all .22LR-chambered firearms.
Remington Viper - 40 grain SWC / 1420 fps / 179 ft-lb
alternative to CCI Velocitor. the solid point results in increased penetration and slightly better BC, more energy at longer range.
There is also the Aguila Super Maximum Hyper Velocity - 30 grain solid / 1750 fps / 204 ft-lb
but there's been alot of problems with them, they lead barrels and very high pressure is unsafe and damages many guns. Again, reduced bullet size, reduced BC makes the bullet lose energy very quickly after leaving the barrel, the effect is even more pronounced than the Stringer rounds. CCI Stinger is a common pick for those seeking highest power. Those who recognize what major impact BC has on energy though, would select the Velocitor or Viper.
The Aguila Super Max is a very small part of hypervelocity .22lr sales and is more novelty than useful.
you can attain insane ultra high power just by combining a #4 nailgun blank and a .22 pellet. the 17.2 grain pellet would exit the gun at around 2600 fps, some 260 ft-lb of energy. Is it useful? no. the pellet leads badly and it's very low BC makes it practically useless. the Aguila is similar, the bullet goes too fast and leads the bore, the very low BC makes it an extremely short range effect- maybe 25 yards tops.
if you were ot use a sabot even higher velocities, energies and better range is possible, but no one makes such exotic rounds for .22LR
Source(s): velocity + bullet = energy. it doesn't mean highest velocity is automatically the most powerful, nor does it mean heaviest bullet = most powerful. there's a very visible pattern and it could be mathematically calculated. if velocity is A axis, weight is B axis, BC is the X axis, and energy is Y axis, you'll see a peak of Y axis if you were to graph this. generally the most powerful could be seen as most powerful at muzzle (a very short ranged effect) or most powerful at range, which the Remington Viper is best. - C_F_45Lv 78 years ago
The CCI Velociter does not deliver the most muzzle energy. But, it does deliver the most energy at 100 yards
The Aguila Super Max delivers more muzzle energy than any .22 LR round that I'm aware of.
I would choose the CCI Velociter
Muzzle energy
They give the muzzle energy numbers for .22 LR
You need a ballistics calculator, and the ballistic coefficient of the round you're interested in to get retained energy numbers

i think of that is national, been listening to approximately it for a month extraordinarily particular gun ban / ammo ban fears, for the reason that they arrive in bricks of 525 and to the uneducated that feels like alot and could be limited... if that isn't the Obama gun ban then that is California's gun ban law, the place there's a 500 rd ammo ban bill is on the table. i'm thinking advertising mine, field via field or brick via brick yet in simple terms won't have the ability to be sure no be counted if I ought to or shouldn't. And what cost? $50 a brick? the cost must be severe adequate to be sure i will restock interior the destiny, 22lr has been skyrocketing, at present $35 (if that is in inventory) from $8 a brick as quickly as I stocked in 2006! If all and sundry feels their prefer for .22lr is properly worth 50 greenbacks per 500 permit me understand.

Doomsday preppers seeking the absolute max preformance from .22? Even if there is a real difference, how exactly significant of a difference is it? Enough to go from .22 Lr to .22 WMR? or to 9mm, or .40 cal? probably not. Mahbe enough that a 100 yard shot on a raccoon goes from likely to probable.

CCI Stinger and CCI Velocitor have some of the best statistics- Stinger is the fastest readily-available load, and Velocitor has the most energy at range.
And by "readily available," I mean "carried by most big box stores."
