Help guys my system isn't booting properly after installing 2 gtx 780's?
Hi guys.
Bought 2 new gtx 780's gigabyte overclocked editions to replace my 2 580's gigabyte overclocked editions . After installing the new cards my computer wouldn't start . A little worried I fiddled around and wondered if its a PSU problem so I put 1 gtx 580 back in and it booted up fine . So I then took the 580 out again and put the 2 x 780's in again and this time my PC started . Problem solved ? No . This time now I am freezing/hanging on the motherboard screen then I'm going to another screen that blinks the _symbol . I will provide screenshots and my system specs to help you guys Analize my problem and hopefully resolve this issue . My guess at this stage is will I have to maybe reformat the whole computer? Maybe try a repair ? I just don't know . Please help?
First screenshot after boot

Please help .
I have now also tried putting 1 gtzx 580 in . And I uninstalled the old driver and used a cleaner to completely remove the registry for it . And still no go . Anyone with any ideas ?
Unhappy guest .
My system is
I7 3770 k
Corsair 750W HX PSU gold certified purchased 06/10/12
Corsair 16 GB (4x4GB) DDR3 1600 MHz memory
Gigabyte G1.sniper M3 motherboard
Thats basically my system . Also I have tried both 780 cards individually with the same result . It's a no go . Um wouldn't I have to be very unlucky both cards would be DOA ? I think so

I doubt you will have to format, as far as I can tell from the screen shots you posted it's hanging on the post screen and hasn't even tried to boot the OS. I'm afraid I need more information to be able to help you more, but I can give you a good place to start. Are you sure your PSU meets the requirements to run two 780s in SLI? That's a huge power draw and those bad boys do require more power than the 580s do. You might even have enough pure wattage but be lacking amperage to properly power the cards, with other devices pulling power from the same rail(s).
Before you even think of formatting I would try testing the two cards individually. Even if you can't power the two of them in SLI you should be able to power one of them by itself. Test them both just to make sure your cards didn't arrive DOA.
Having the correct drivers or driver complications from previous drivers interfering with the new drivers for those cards should be a complete non-issue as long as you're outside of the OS environment.
Test the cards separately, if they work one at a time it's time to look into a stronger PSU. If they don't run individually you might have cards that were just dead on arrival. From there you can take the proper steps to deal with the situation.
If you can provide a more detailed list of your system components I might be able to offer you more help. Until then, good luck.

Edit: Yes, you would have to be very unlucky for that to be the case. Do you have access to another system you can use to test the cards? Have you tried a CMOS clear already?
When you re-installed the 580 the system boots normally all the way into the OS?

uninstall the old gpus and try doing the 780s one at a time.
also, what is your power supply?
