Then what about heterosexuality? Is it a choice as well?

Sexuality is not a choice. To say otherwise would show how irrational a person is. Interestingly enough, I was discussing the same thing with Muslims and most of them admit that homosexuality is not a choice but they still say homosexuals should abstain from same sex relations.

The point is, Christians are the only people I've seen that relate homosexuality to demons and consider it a choice.

Heterosexuality is not a choice, because God's perfect design of humans is to be heterosexual, so there is no reason to "choose" heterosexuality.

Homosexuality is a perversion, an aberrant behavior, a deviation from the perfect design. Because God has said so.

Being inclined whichever way is not a choice, but what is a choice is whether we act upon what we may be inclined to when its clearly wrong.

When homosexuality starts being accepted its the start of a very slippery slope which given time could lead to all sorts of other wrong ideas becoming more acceptable to people that clearly are not thinking as they really should be.

The practice of homosexuality is a wrong regardless of choice, for what should be very obvious reasons.

  • I never chose to be gay. But if I did, then heterosexuality would have to be a choice, too. Anti-gay "Christians" can't have it both ways.

Of course sexuality isn't a choice. To say it is, is absurd.

Furthermore to vilify a gay man for having sex with another gay man is also absurd.

He should choose to have sex with a woman? Why? Why should he be only allowed to have sex with a person for whom he feels no sexual attraction when the only people involved are all consenting adults?

It's not like pedophilia where there's obvious reasons why the persons urges must not be allowed to go fulfilled.

Christians themselves know that homosexuality is NOT a choice, and if they say it is a choice, their ignorance is showing.

Anyways, I've spoken with one Christian about this before, (without breaking out into scream fights like with other Christians) and she told me that her herself knows that homosexuality is not a choice - but what you do about it IS a choice.

Being attracted to the same sex doesn't matter, but doing sexual things with the same sex does, according to her.

So, yes. It's the choices you make as a homosexual, not what your sexual orientation is.

    Homosexuality is not a choice.

there was an actor (i cannot remember the guys name unfortunately) but i remember reading once , he actually resented the fact he was homosexual , and even said once "i would give anything to be normal". so there you are , its not a choice.

i assume he meant "normal" as in able to procreate ? who knows.

Sex is a choice period! Whether its heterosexual or homosexual it is not necessary to live. We make choices everyday as to what we will eat, where we live, who we will spend our time with, etc. Sex is not a choice only in instances of rape, when a person is forced to be an unwilling participant. When you have sex it is consensual or a choice. Granted some may be born with more genes of one type or another, but it is still a choice when it comes to controlling our impulses. We may have a bad temper due to a chemical imbalance, so do we just give in to having fits of rage or do we control our impulses. We all have some imperfect tendencies we have to contend with and we make choices on how to deal with them. No matter how you slice it, sex is not necessary to live, it is a choice!

Apparently, heterosexuals say you are not born that way but chose it.
