Eye insurance question though Employer?
Okay i purchased Eye insurance through Eyemed from my employer and it says its a bi weekly charge of 6 dollars and something for every 2 weeks is that really the price for insurance for my eye? i got the eye select 150 which covers a lot almost everything. I thought insurance was more or is it discounted because its through your employer?

In some cases, insurance actually costs more through an employer. The price you are paying is between $150 and $200 per year. That is really the price for getting it through your employer. It could be different through another employer.
It's also not very smart to get this insurance, because there are places (e.g., Wal-Mart, Costco, etc.) where you can get an eye exam and glasses for less than this insurance costs through your employer.

Nope, it's not. That's YOUR COST of the insurance for your eye. Your employer ALSO kicks in a bunch.
When you get insurance through your employer, your employer kicks in a bunch towards that monthly cost.

Eye insurance does not cost that much because problems related to eye insurance don't cost that much.
- eye glasses (if you buy a fancy pair, you usually have to pay extra) or contracts and then the cost of the exam.
If you ever have an eye injury or disease that is usually covered under your regular health insurance. (not vision insurance).

Vision insurance isn't expensive. That's what it costs. We sell plans that are even half that price. I'd say most are $5-$20/month depending on what they cover.

It is likely your employer is paying some of the premium as one of your benefits. They typically pay 50 to 60% of your health care premium etc,
