Bell Pepper Problems?

The weather has been cold, cloudy and mostly wet for the past three weeks here and the pepper plants I set out about ten days ago are not doing well at all. I see a few chewed spots so obviously have a pest and will use a common pest spray to try to help with that...but I am also seeing what appears to be a problem with something else as well. Some of the newer leaves are coming out misshapen and kind of curled up. Any idea what I might be seeing here. Please help. I hate to lose them.

Use Sevin dust or something like that as your pesticide. It comes off the next rain. Using something like Spectricide or other common household spray will contaminate your pepper. Curled leaves at this point indicates not enough water. Give them enough water until they get used to their new place and then let nature take over.

Bell Peppers really don't produce a lot of peppers. You might want to try other peppers next year. Banana Peppers are profuse. I still have some in the freezer from last year. Chocolate Peppers are unique but don't really produce a lot either.

I've tried so many times, but there is almost no way to keep spiders from getting into the house. In the summer they go into houses because its cooler. When it starts getting cold out in the fall, they go into houses because its warmer. When they're in the house, they'll find a secluded place to hide their egg sacks, and eventually the egg sacks will hatch and the tiny spiders will scatter all over the house. And that is why it is difficult to keep spiders out...there's always more hiding out somewhere you don't know about. They also manage to get in when you happen to leave the door open for those few seconds, leave the window open, leave the garage door open...they always find a way in.

Peppers are a warm weather plant. When the weather gets warmer they will start growing.
