I'm fat, should I stop eating?

I've gained a couple of pounds over the last few weeks, and I think I should go on a diet. But how do I diet? Can't I just stop eating? I mean, dieters barely eat, so why eat at all?!

Update:

What if I like, also run a lot, will that work?

Update 2:

Okay, what if I have only one KFC Premium chicken bucket a day and a diet coke?

Actually you need to check out exercise and sports diet. Athletes eat a lot of food in order to perform well. I think that you should definitely eat, but eat a balanced, healthy diet. So the first thing would be to throw out all junk from your diet such as sodas, coka-colas, alcohol (if any), white flour stuff (biscuits, pastas, rice, bread), potatoes, deep fried stuff, ice-creams, chocolates and fatty sweet stuff. Try to google "sports nutrition bodybuilding fitness model recipes" - you'll get some ideas. Also the website http://www.midailydiet.com/ has some good healthy community where everyone shares what they ate daily (like facebook).

So in your diet, try to have heavy breakfast, normal lunch and light dinner. Try to eat the majority of your healthy carbs (brown rice, bread, pasta) in the morning along with some protein (chicken breast, eggs or fish) and raw veggies (some salad). Later you can have 1 serving of bread with some protein again (chicken sandwich), at night you could have egg white omelette with some fruits. Try having green tea instead of tea/coffee with milk and sugar. Green tea burns fat. If you want to have coffee though, use stevia or anything but sugar.

Also, if you don't exercise at all, even if you loose weight, you'll look skinny and of not good shape. So including some cardio and weight training (or calisthenics) would work,

No, starving yourself is not the answer. Dieters that barely eat always gain the weight straight back because it is unrealistic to live off such tiny amounts of food.

Eat healthily, have oatmeal and fruit for breakfast, omelette and salad for lunch, lean fish/meat with veggies for dinner, snack on fruit and veg inbetween meals, drink lots of water, run a few times a week and it will drop off. Why put your body through hell when there is an easier, healthier way?

It's very easy to tell yourself that you are going to just stop eating and turn skinny, but it is often not as simple as that. What I would recommend is logging the food you eat in a typical day and start cutting out certain foods. Eventually you should try to get down to a consistent eating pattern that you can maintain for weeks-months-years. On the side you might want to make an effort to do some kind of phyiscal excersise every day. It can be hard to workout alone but maybe you can find a parter to keep you company and prevent you from dropping your workout plan. Just remember that your weight is completely determined by the amount of calories you take in and the amount of calories you burn. All you have to do to start losing weight is tip the calories balance slightly and be consistent with your weight loss efforts.

it is one way to keep you moving and energized. I know im only 14 but my sister she stoped eating and she got real sick. She wanted to lose a couple of pounds as well but it was not the good option.

    i suggest you to:

    - eat healthy

    -exercize (cardio, jogging, sit-ups)

    -drink lite milk

-cut down on fast food (eat macaz once every 2 months- something like that)

-go on youtube an you will see some clips about these issues

    and ya

    i hope this helped

  • Starving yourself makes your body go into... starvation mode! This means you will eat away all your muscles first. Anything you slip and eat will be stored as fat even if healthy and all your fat will clump together at your belly to protect your organs. Your skin will lose that lively tone and you'll always be irritable and have digestion problems. If, instead, you try eating a little healthier and exercising sometimes, you'll lose those few pounds and tone up. Also, you'll feel happier.

Not a good idea. You need to eat to survive. If you starve yourself, you'll gain the weight back after you start eating again.. It's useless. If you want to lose weight, just eat healthily and exercise regularly.
