Something's wrong with my Menstrual Cycle?

I started my period 1 and a half years ago and I'm 14 years old. And my periods have always been extremely irregular and I'm not talking just a week or so, I'm talking at least 3-4 months apart from each other. I haven't told anyone this even my mother, and I don't really want to tell her. I never know when my period is going to come and when it does it usually it only lasts for about 4 days.

I am a bit worried because I have a feeling its something bad. I read somewhere that its no good if ur period skips more that 2 months.

Its been about 2 and a half months since I last had a period and today black bloody clotty stuff started coming out. (sorry thats pretty gross, I know) ANYONE KNOW WHAT'S THE MATTER?

Update:

Its not old blood if i just started my period! if everythings ok then why did i read somewhere that if ur period passes 2 months then i may not be able to have children when i am older?! :(

I'm completely healthy and in my twenties and have had the same problem in the past. It's nothing to worry about. Your cycle can change because of stress, poor diet, rapid weight gain/loss, lots of factors. If it really bothers you, or if you feel pelvic pain when you're not on the rag, tell your mom and go see your doctor. They deal with this kind of thing every day, it's nothing to be embarrassed about, and at least you'll have peace of mind :)

    - Stop reading stuff on the internet about your health concerns! Just because it's on the internet doesn't mean its true. If it bothers you that much, tell someone and see your doctor. And yes, dark clotty blood is normal. It takes a while to travel out and it turns that color after time. A mosquito bite on your arm, if you pick it and wait, the dried blood turns dark after a few minutes. That's all the time it takes when you're on the rag too. Calm down sweetie.

Everything is probably perfectly normal. If you have pain or spam through a pad in less than an hour then you have cause for concern. I wouldn't be overly concerned about someone your age having irregulars menses. Your body is still trying to figure things out and it will probably do so in the next few years.

Black/brown just means old blood. Normal.
