Brake issues with my 2002 wrx?

So the passenger rear wheel is locking up. I just replaced the rotors (not pads because I was sent the wrong ones but will put new ones on soon) but after I put everything back to get her it feels like the ebrake is gripping the rotor very slightly I hear a slight grinding noise when I drive it I sprayed A lot of brake cleaner which seemed to help but I can still hear it. Any idea what can be causing this? FYI it's not the pads that are gripping the rotor only the drum ebrake is

If you have rear disk brakes

Sounds like you got a sticky caliper. Try removing the caliper and getting a big C-clamp to compress the brake caliper piston into the caliper unit. You'll need to also take off the cover of the master cylinder first (before compressing the piston) to allow the brake fluid (hydraulic pressure) to flow back into the master cylinder itself. Then after you compress the piston, replace the master cylinder cap and then rehang the caliper onto the car.

If you have drum brakes on the rear.

Then you need to readjust the brake shoes a little (inwards) to allow some extra room for your shoes.

That grinding noise yo hear could very well be the bearing that is badly worn. My buddy had a bed rear bearing and it sounds like a jet airplane is following us everywhere we go. It was confusing at first because there was no drag on the wheel when the car was up on stands and no side to side movement like people say is a sign of a bad bearing but sure enough, that was the issue.

the automobile is worth over $17,000 certainly for my area with each and every of the advancements reported. make helpful the automobile would not have a salvage identify. i do no longer know if carfax comments that. Ask no rely if that's okay to allow a mechanic examine it out. Does it have any warning lighting fixtures on the sprint? If no longer this appears like a great deal. Why is the broker merchandising it? what's the form of motor vehicle the broker is utilising now that he or she is merchandising this automobile? The miles sound somewhat low for this motor vehicle year and style. maximum human beings placed a ton of miles in this motor vehicle. Any motor vehicle with in straightforward terms 31k that's approximately 6 years previous very uncommon and enormously suspiciously for my area. meaning the driving force in straightforward terms drives approximately 5k a year. If the carfax shows the mileage being consistent then that's probable genuine and the driving force purely didn'tchronic plenty. that's purely strangely for a driving force to spend that many advancements and not race the hell out of it. What are different sellers merchandising comparable automobiles for and pass from there. If that's far extra inexpensive than all the different sellers costs i might probable dodge the sale.

There is an adjustment for the emergency brake shoes inside the rotor. Make sure the brake shoes are not separating between the lining and the metal.
