How to get Windows XP to remember a password?

Apparently some time in the past I told Windows to not remember a password (probably a incorrect one) on a few but not all web sites and now it won't ask again. It still asks when I visit a new web site. How can I get it to remember a password on a site it doesn't have one stored for and doesn't ask?

I.e. I want a chance to enter the correct password and have Windows remember it.

Update:

FYI: I am aware that some web sites won't allow it to remember and I'm not referring to that type of site.

Update 2:

The first answer below helped me go to "Ask me before savings passwords" which I unchecked so it will automatically always remember passwords. Am I correct on that?

windows xp is the operating system. if i got you correctly you want your computer to remember website logins and thats done by the web browser. (the default is internet explorer) so in internet explorer go to Tools > Internet Options > Content > Autocomplete > Settings and checking the User names and passwords on forms and Ask me before saving passwords checkboxes.
