Macbook pro i5 or macbook air i5?
Im going to buy a laptop for my birthday but cant decide between 2 ive had both a mac and windows before and much prefer the mac os so please dont suggest any windows laptops. Anyway the 2 ive narrowed it down to are the macbook pro i5 500gb hardive and the macbook air i5 128gb flash storage i would mainly be using the laptop for video streaming typing up documents and causual internet browsing. I probably would use more than 128gb but could purchase a external harddrive is the flash storage really alot faster or not much difference? The prices are roughly the same so which one would be better for me?

Yes, flash or SSD is waaaaaaay faster. The 7200 rpm hard drive went out on my 13" MacBook Pro and my dad put a flash drive in. It boots up much, much faster and applications open up 4 times quicker. I don't see the spinning beach ball anymore. Get the MacBook Pro with an SSD if you can afford it or install it yourself. If my dad can do it, anyone can.

The macbook air will have the speed of the flash storage while the MacBook pro uses a faster i5 chip than the Air. You will also get more battery life from the pro. The Air uses an i5 3317u with a tdp of 17w while the pro uses a 3210m that has a 35w tdp. The 3210m will be capable of more demanding applications.
