The libs like Chris Matthews hate that there aren't currently any blacks in the Senate. Booker will be an affirmative action candidate just like Obama. It's all about skin color, not qualifications and values.

Newark has done quite well under Booker.
Booker was expected to run and he is expected to win Lautenberg's seat. He is incredibly popular and well known across the state. That's why Christie chickened out and called an unnecessary and expensive ($12 MILLION) special election. Dems will likely be energized by Booker's run for the senate. Christie was afraid it would impact the governor's race.
