Do Christians place any value on human life?
Because based on the questions and answers here, most Christians see human life as nothing more than an entrance exam for the afterlife.
Doesn't that seem empty and meaningless?

No. - I mean, yes, Christians do value human life.
In COMPARISON to what comes afterwards, this life is not much - but it doesn't mean it's not important, or that as a whole it's not valuable - in fact Christians place a lot of value on this life.
This life is crucial for Christians because it determines their eternity.
Not to mention it's the only shot we get, so most believe it is to be enjoyed and explored, too - otherwise why would God bother creating this astoundingly awesome universe for us?
It's not a simple entrance exam. It's so much more than that.
Christians are at the front of many humanitarian causes, too - if they placed no value on life, why would they bother?
I for one intend to live this life to the full. I want to experience this world and everything it has to offer, and I want to contribute to it for others.

Actually it seems to me that Christians get more out of life and understand the purpose of life better than nonbelievers. Life is about having relationships both with people and God. As long as they are living there is important work for the Christian to do. That includes being the best person you can be, being an example, helping others, doing your duties as a family member and friend. As far as life and afterlife, you should realize that afterlife is eternity and will be greather than this life. Still this life is the time of struggle, the time of ups and downs, the joy and the tears, the broken promises and the hopes. This life gives us character and causes us to exercise our faith, and grow wiser, stronger and more charitable. We get our character here and our foundation here, so this life is important, and not to be thrown away. Christ said I came that you might have life and more abundant life. All Christian should be reaching for that more abundant life in the here and now.
