why do thin people like to give out weight loss advice?

Ok so I just found out that I am overweight. (female, 5'10" 320 lbs) My doctor said it is not due to any medical condition and is probably "life style". Also a few friends lately have asked me to go to the gym or for walks with them. or encourage me to eat less when im trying to eat my dinner and deserts.

I just want to ask why every thin person is always trying to give out weight loss advice its sooo stupid they dont know ****..

Skinny people are the only people who are in any position to give weight loss advice, we are the ones that either didn't get fat in the first place, or lost weight. We're kind of the experts on it actually, we know what we do and we know it works.

Is this even a serious question?

They are trying to encourage you to eat less while you are eating because naturally they are hoping you will get into the habit of eating less and maybe by saying while you are eating they are hoping you will notice in front of your eyes your eating habits. It's not all about not eating too much but it is mostly about what you eat, although your body does not need so much food even if it is healthy, eating far too much is always bad.

What is so wrong with your friends wanting you to go the gym with them anyway?

Don't know sh!t? Really now? How?

Either this is a non-serious question or you are not serious about losing weight, you want to lose the extra weight then you have to make the effort on your part.

I think you'll find the same thing applies in most areas of life.

The less you know about something, the easier it is to have an absolute opinion. The more you know, the more you realize it's complicated.

For some reason it's okay, in people's minds, to give advice and get on someone's case about their body. It shows that they "care" and "want to help" but it also lets them feel superior. So it makes them feel good about themselves in several different ways, they feel both helpful and a little bit above you, while you can feel inferior and pushed around by it.

Trying to help is probably what motivates them, but if it becomes constant nagging it is probably not very helpful in the long run. It would be more helpful if they would help build up your self confidence and pride in yourself, instead of telling you what to do.

Try not to get upset with them, they don't realize how you feel. Just smile and nod and thank them for their concern but ultimately do what feels good for you. If you get upset with them that might hinder your own desire to be healthy. Nobody wants to be pushed around even if everyone means well. Being healthy has to be your own decision.

Because being 320 lbs is extremely unhealthy and could lead to many diseases and eventually death.

They're trying to give you the option to get health and lose weight.

They're trying to include you because they care enough to try?

They don't know? Just because a person is skinny doesn't mean they always were and even if they were, You lose weight the same way.

    Don't be a *****.

hmm to an extent that's true

    so

listen to those skinny people who were once overweight giving out advice then, so use that anger to motivate you and channel it in the right direction and lose weight

    cheers
