Until your god pays taxes, he has no say in my government. Agree?
This rule should also apply to your church.

Religion has no place in government. There have been so many persecutions in the past when governments favor a particular religion.

I agree with the separation of church and state. Speaking about the US, there are so many different religions here that the government needs to stay neutral or risk estranging people of different faiths. There are countries where the church has a huge say in the run of the state, and I would challenge anyone to come up with an instance in which this actually works well and doesn't breed resentment.
Every election time, when people start debating about which religion a specific candidate follows, I just want to move.

Did you have the impression that church members don't pay taxes?
I concur entirely with the desire to keep religious institutions out of direct involvement with government operations. However, government doesn't work at all if the people working within it don't apply their personal values.
I WOULD prefer to make religious groups liable for taxes on money they spend directly on politics. Last year, the Catholic Church put quite a bit of money behind a constitutional amendment to prohibit same-sex marriage in my state, and I'd love to see them hit up for taxes on that.
Incidentally, the result of the campaign was that the amendment was defeated, with about as many Catholics voting against as for it, and same-sex marriage will be legal here in August.

Christian church homes are not the only tax exempt church homes, all religions that the U. S. government acknowledges as authentic religions are tax exempt, because of fact they do no longer make plenty money first of all, they only make money from donations, and that money in basic terms is going in direction of protecting the church working, and what's left over is going to the clergy of the parish, clergymen do no longer make plenty money and if we began to tax church homes then the church homes does not be waiting to assist themselves. If we start up taxing any faith then there isn't any longer separation of church and state (between the failings usa became in keeping with), because of fact the government could be interfering in religious affairs.(that's additionally why the government can't tension church homes to permit woman clergymen.) while the government starts off interfering with church homes, then the government officers can start up allowing their faith into the government. and there are different elementary techniques to decrease the debt, get rid of welfare(there is a few thing that's abused broadly and motives a brilliant sort of government spending)
