pork shoulder, 5 pound bone in pork shoulder, seasoned/rubbed with your favorite rub left to get at room temp 2 hours...than 1 hour at 500 f, 6 hours at 250 f in the oven.with 4 1/2 hours to go remove pork from oven and put onion halves under it to prop it up.peel and all. also add 12 or 16 ounce can of your favorite dark beer.put roast back in oven for remaining time..the pork will pull apart with 2 forks! serve on potato flour rolls topped with coleslaw piece of the onion and plenty of the beer/fat sauce , on the roll. for those who want a side dish, soak corn in water overnite, with 2 1/2 hours left cooking pork put corn in oven husk and all, with 1 hour 15 minutes left remove pork with tongs and put on counter top, when the 7 hours is up for the roast, the corn husks will be cooled to remove by hand. do not remove corn husks until ready to enjoy though, the husk will provide a natural warmer in case you wanna eat it later...
