free ebooks downloads?

is it possible to download ebooks for free for the nook? if so where

    Anything published before 1923 is in the public domain and can be legally downloaded for free. Gutenberg.org, manybooks.net and books.google.com all have a lot of free public domain ebooks. Anything published after 1923 is under copyright, which means downloading it without paying is illegal unless the author or publisher is giving it away. B&N does have books that are free from the authors. You can also try your public library - most loan ebooks as well as physical ones.

    Barnes and noble's website does offer some free Ebooks.
