Will I still get my period?

I started the birth control pill a week ago, and I am due to get my period in the next day or two. Will I still get it? And if so will it be lighter or shorter than normal?

  • Birth control is designed to continue your period. Some kinds have certain pills to start and stop your cycles. It can lighten and/or shorten your period depending on how your flow and length were before starting the pill.
