Is French toast or donuts more healthy to eat for breakfast?

Niether! But I guess french toast. It's actually going to be MUCH higher in calories though, depending on how much you eat because think about it: One slice of bread is usually 100-120 calories. The egg batter is going to add more. Then the butter its fried with. If you put maple syrup on that's 400 calories in 1/2 cup. Donuts range form being 200-500 calories depending on what kind it is. However, that's ALL empty calories. At least with french toast, there's protein in the egg batter, bread isn't necesarily unhealthy, and maple syrup is a natural product. Both are very bad for you though!!!

It would seem like French Toast would be the logical answer. But, if you make French Toast like me with a heavy cream /egg dip and a sweet challah bread as the base and then serve it doused in fresh butter and maple syrup, perhaps that donut is indeed healthier.
