Although honesty, the best policy, Truth is a little more subtle. It can be damn impractical to be completely honest, at all costs. "Situations" makes it sound like a tv comedy script...

So, is there any formulaic option? MAYBE but to be real sure live a little more of life to find out for yourself what's best for you. This is not the advice column, and few of us are experts on our own, much less someone else's crap.

This is a question of ethics and there is no correct answer. Different situations call for different actions. If your sister came up to you and she was all ready to go to prom, but she has braces and acne and weird hair and her dress big enough for two midgets to hide underneath, and she asks "How do I look?" You will lie and say she is beautiful. Now on the other hand, If a police officer asked where you were last Tuesday night at 11pm you sure as heck better tell the truth.(unless you really did kill that hooker and left her in the alley behind the minimart. Then you might want to lie.) There is no black and white, it is just a huge ever-changeing shade of gray. As I said, there is no correct answer.

The course should be dictated by the need of the Scenario of the situation at hand.

The Logic of the Heart, should give you a Premise; but, best course, may not always be the wise one, but the emotional one.

This brings the hypothetical conclusion, as being a Hit or Miss tactic, and does not always guarantee desired results.

    Honesty is always the best.

Even if it gets you in a more worse situation than you are in, it's always better to be true to yourself and others. Hope this was helpful and good luck.

Honesty may be the best policy for the one telling it... but not all who receive it appreciate it or want it.

If it's not truly needed and won't make a situation better, it's probably not the best policy.

For those close to me... honesty is the best policy.

    Honesty is the best decision.

It keeps you from looking over your shoulder.
