Unknown (X) x 16.67% = 64.00, then what is the Unknown (X) and how do you solve it?
How do I solve this equation when you know the % (16.67) and the answer (64.00) but not the principle (the unknown)..

In order to get the 64.00, you had to multiply X by 16.67%. As with any algebra problem, the first step is often to gather like terms on the same side of the =. To do this, you perform the same operation on each side. Since you want to get rid of 16.67% on the right and it is involved in a multiplication, you will need to divide, on both sides.
The only thing left is to know what 16.67% really is. Why does no one seem to know that percent means per hundred and, except on sales flyers, must be treated as a decimal fraction? Do you know how to write 16.67% as a decimal?
Sorry for the rant, but most of the questions regarding percentage suggest that the asker has no idea of how to do percentage. Since praying and reading the Bible in school is not allowed, maybe we should substitute a daily exercise of expressing percentage as a decimal.
