Large red, painful lump on pubic area?

I have had this lump for about 6 months. It started at about the size of a nickel then started going away. Then it started to grow again and is now about the size of a loony and very painful. Also, in the last week the skin in that area has started to peel. I don't shave. I also don't touch it (except when I shower). I have had the same sexual partner for six straight years. There is no heat to it.

I plan on going to the walk in clinic tomorrow but I really don't want to since you never know which doctor you get and it's embarrassing, but I will go if I have to. But if anyone has any ideas to what this is and if I can treat it myself, that would be great.

Usually I get those bumps from shaving. It's possibly an ingrown hair. Those are very painful. If you touch them or they rub against your panties might make it worse or get infected. Your doctor would just prescribe you a topical cream for that. If it's not that then it's probably a cyst in that case you should really seek medical attention. Hope this helped(:

    Sounds like a cyst.

They can usually be treated at home by having hot/warm baths twice a day until it goes down or your doctor can sort it out by draining it.

It sounds like cancer. Don't panic, it might be benign.
