Why was Jesus such an asswipe?

I found this little gem in the King James edition of the Bible:

I am come to send fire on Earth; and what will I, if it be already kindled? But I have a baptism to be baptized with; and how am I straitened till it be accomplished! Suppose ye that I am come to give peace on earth? I tell you, Nay; but rather division: For from henceforth there shall be five in one house divided, three against two, and two against three. The father shall be divided against the son, and the son against the father; the mother against the daughter, and the daughter against the mother; the mother in law against her daughter in law, and the daughter in law against her mother in law. (Luke 12:49–53)

Some good shepherd.

That's kind of like painting someone as a saint then pulling up the reality and acting all surprised.

    It's silly.

Your conception of who Jesus is is your own fault.

Most of us, religious and not, know the quote and know better and don't pretend Jesus was what he wasn't.

    Take this nonsense elsewhere.

Just the fact that you asked this is proof that he was right. Of course, you have never been a christian, so Jesus makes no sense to you.

    How ironic.

Yeah, shepherds shouldn't pit sheep against sheep. Although I guess it might be boring watching sheep, and that might break the monotony.
