No. I've known many non-believers who

have had "very high moral standards."

No I don't think that makes a bad person. It is a life choice that person chose to live and with others they had no choice because of influences. Everyone has the right to believe whatever they want to believe, but just because a person doesn't follow a certain religion in which some people believe they should, does not make them a bad person.

    No.

Just because she is someone free thinker, doesn't mean that she's bad.

How do you explain those who pretend to be so pious but then inside, they

still living in lies where they secretly disobeyed their religion and sometimes

do have doubts upon God.That one is bad too?

So religion and God aren't the cause or matter in here.

  • Of course not. Atheists are some of the most moral people around. Consider all the violence, intolerance, tyranny and hatred that are *built into* every major religion (and most minor ones too). Muslim, xtian, jewish, hindu all have their share of religious-incited violence. Even buddhism is not entirely peaceful, though it's probably the least bad. It is, in fact, the immorality of religion that drives many people away from it.

As an atheist I value being good for its own sake. I don't need the bribe of heaven or threat of hell to be good. This one life is all we get and our behavior, good or evil, directly affects the kind of world we live in. And I want to spend my limited time in the best world possible.

"Religion is an insult to human dignity. With or without it, you'd have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, it takes religion." -- Steven Weinberg, Nobel laureate physicist

  • I'm not sure I understand what you mean exactly by "bad one". If you mean that humans are inherently bad without religious guidance then I disagree. It sounds like the idea of original sin, which I also disagree with. I think humans are more than capable of deciding on their own moral code and way of life, outside of a structured religious setting. It forces them to really question what the concepts of good and bad mean, and why they are applied to certain things.

I think, As I am the One, I Do Not Know, I am the Good or the Bad Human.

Because of their own beleif system? NO the same way someone who beleives in religion and a god is not automatically good............. being a good or bad 'person' is nothing to do with religion or god

  • No, I would actually respect them more. There is no proof that God exists and only an idiot cannot see how corrupt and destructive religion is by it's very nature.

No, not at all, I like to have a compass though by which I find my direction on the path through life, otherwise it may be a case of no direction, which way should we go!

That person may not be following Bhakti Marga but may be following the essence of Karma Marga or Gyan Marga. In that case, that person cannot be considered bad.
