Do you think Cal will steal Rossi's ride.?

Apart from the crash today; this guy has been more than exceptional.

I don't think he will steal it but I do think he will earn it and be on Rossi's bike next year.

His biggest drawback is the number of times he throws the bike away. It is in Cal's nature to win but he would give a better picture of himself if he accepted his bike isn't a factory bike and backed it off a fraction in his riding, it might only be 2%, to reduce his falls and have more finishes. Mind you, he isn't Baurtista by a long shot, he nearly took out Rossi again, I can see a black eye coming for him....

Barring injury, Rossi isn’t going anywhere until after the 2014 season; in the summer of 2012, he signed a two year contract with factory Yamaha.

And let’s not forget, Stoner was a “crasher” too while with Gresini Honda; as long as Cal doesn‘t get seriously injured, he‘ll be in the mix for factory consideration.

If nowhere other than with Ducati, particularly if Dovizioso and Hayden go season long without at LEAST a podium.

On the other hand, what is interesting is it just may be Rossi is finally getting a bit of “payback” after first abandoning Honda, and then - demonstrating very little class - he and Burgess dumped Ducati.

This goes back to the summer following the 2003 season, when Honda’s racing director said “anybody could win on our bikes” and Rossi and Burgess took that out-of-context statement to heart, and they secretly moved to Yamaha.

When Rossi and Burgess et al, made the announcement they were going to Ducati in 2011, they too spouted that Valentino could “win on any bike, and we’re going to bring the world championship back to Ducati“; I think we all know what happened there.

It seems apparent, that Rossi’s team is just a little behind the proverbial 8 Ball when it comes to his set-up; while I am not a Lorenzo fan, I am enjoying watching smart-*** Pedrosa and his equally smart-assed tech Sito Pons, whenever they're off the lead.

Just hoping Hayden can get the hell up there, or he just might be out of a ride….

With this morning news that Suzuki are not coming until 2015, I really dont know where Cal is going to next year now.

He certainly deserves a full factory bike, but Yamaha dont have any.

If only Cal was Spanish he would have a shed load of personal backers throwing money at him & could field there own bike. Sadly the British media & backing is not there. As a nantion, we ( the British) dont care about bike racing. Such a shame.
