My PC keeps asking me to activate windows key?
I've had my PC for 5 months now and since yesterday I keep getting a message telling me to activate my windows key and gives me a link to the settings app (im using windows 8) after I click the link and the PC settings app opens it says my windows key is already in use somewhere else¯\(°_o)/¯? Which is weird cause windows was on my PC when I bought it. Any idea how I could fix this, without restoring to factory settings preferably :D ? Thanks in advance.
I got it from Rent-A-Center
Also it was brand new when I got it.

Sounds like you got a bootleg copy of Windows that sucks dude did you get it from a friend or bought it use is so you guys find a CD with a product key or the cracked to put a password on it

Someone else is using the same key. Since you got it from a rental place odds are that one of the former users copied the key to use on his own computer. Good luck getting Rent-A-Center to straighten it out.
