  • What instruction covers geo bach in the navy?

Probably MILPERS or BUPERS something or other but I am having trouble finding where geo bachs are defined in the navy. Basically, I am currently geo bach but they gave me 3 year orders this time instead of 2, so when I went to personnel onboard the command I was sent to, they said that I have 3 year orders because of the sea/shore rotation within my rating and I explained that since I am geo bach my orders are always 2 years when stationed overseas, as they have always been. So either I am wrong and a sailor can randomly receive 3 year geo bach orders overseas during his career or my personnel office doesn't know what they are talking about but either way I would like to look up the instruction so I can see for myself. Thanks!

Does a headstock with openings around the tuning pegs always mean it is a classical guitar or are there acoustic guitars with this design?

Someone bought me a guitar advertised as an "Acoustic Guitar" but it has the openings on the headstock that are characteristic of a classical guitar. In my experience I have never seen a guitar with the openings (sorry I don't know what there called) that was not meant to be played with nylon strings. I have a photo attached of what I am referring to as the "openings" haha its not the same guitar but you should see what I mean.

Basically, I am asking if having that opening on the headstock ALWAYS means its a classical guitar and not an acoustic. Thanks for your time

  • Proper bridge arrangement?

The guitar is a Fender DG-7 your typical low end acoustic guitar ,for the most part, with the solid plastic bridge that gently slopes to one end. I am restringing it for about the 1000th time and for some reason the bridge looks like it might be in backwards, as in the highest part of the bridge is on the low E and lowest part of the bridge is at the high E. Its been so long now I cant remember if I am just being paranoid/old or if I really do have it backwards.

Moreover, the bridge doesn't have an indentation for the B as some electric bridges have.

    Thanks for your time.

  • Weird smell coming from vents?

So yesterday when I woke there was this terrible smell in my house and its coming from the vents (heat), the problem is I have no idea what could be causing this weird smell so I don't know where to even begin fixing it. The smell is hard to describe, it almost smells like burning dust (when you turn your heat on high after not having it on for awhile) only much worse. I assumed it was mold either in the basement or under the kitchen sink making this smell but I just got done searching and couldn't find anything (I assumed mold because I have never smelled this smell before and don't know what could be making it). So as I went around trying to find out where the smell was from it smelt strongest when I put my face near the vents, but my furnace is in the basement and the smell is NOT in the basement.

If anyone has any idea what the problem I would really appreciate it. Thanks for your time.

  • Can someone who has been in the Army tell me what it was like?

Im thinking about joining the Army reserves for help with college but, from what I understand, I need to enlist for 6 years to qualify for the 20,000 enlistment bonus. So I'm weighing the pros and cons and trying to decide if its worth that huge commitment. Also im very scared of heights, how would that factor in? Any thing anyone could tell whos actually been there (boot camp, basic combat training, or whatever its called) would be appreciated. Thanks.

I've had my PC for 5 months now and since yesterday I keep getting a message telling me to activate my windows key and gives me a link to the settings app (im using windows 8) after I click the link and the PC settings app opens it says my windows key is already in use somewhere else¯\(°_o)/¯? Which is weird cause windows was on my PC when I bought it. Any idea how I could fix this, without restoring to factory settings preferably :D ? Thanks in advance.

  • If I tightened my truss rod slightly would I be able to bend strings easier?

I had pretty heavy gauge string on my acoustic so I loosened my truss rod a tiny bit so my strings weren't too tight and then after years I put light gauge strings on there and I tightened my truss rod to make the strings tighter. Currently my action is fine and the strings aren't too tight nor too lose but I have to bend the string more then I would like to (even for a 1/4). So what im trying to ask is if I tightened my truss rod a little bit would it make my strings easier to bend ( not physically easier but easier as in I wouldn't have to literally bend the string so much to achieve the desired "bend" im trying to do) ?

  • Help with a pre-calc question?

The question is: 4SIN(theta) + 7 = 9 and the interval is 0- theta- 2pi. I know you simplify and end up with SIN(theta) = 1/2 and the two angles for the interval are pi/6 and 5pi/6 but what I don't understand is how you find the two angles for the interval ( the pi/6 and the 5pi/6 ). Could someone please explain this to me?
