What instruction covers geo bach in the navy?
Probably MILPERS or BUPERS something or other but I am having trouble finding where geo bachs are defined in the navy. Basically, I am currently geo bach but they gave me 3 year orders this time instead of 2, so when I went to personnel onboard the command I was sent to, they said that I have 3 year orders because of the sea/shore rotation within my rating and I explained that since I am geo bach my orders are always 2 years when stationed overseas, as they have always been. So either I am wrong and a sailor can randomly receive 3 year geo bach orders overseas during his career or my personnel office doesn't know what they are talking about but either way I would like to look up the instruction so I can see for myself. Thanks!

You are not a Geo Bach, you are on unaccompanied OCONUS orders. They can be orders from 12-36 months all depends on the Rating/NOS, Sea/Shore rotation and what that command needs. Generally the orders 12-24 months are in remoter areas such as Diego Garcia, Sousa Bay, or Bahrain for example.

There are no more geo bats . Your orders will not change just because your dependents did not join you. Your sea/ shore rotation times do not change.
