...got a question for established court-room judges?

If a person is accused of a crime and must go up before a judge, and the judge sets a fine or bail charge on him/her; what is done with that money?

Also, if the person is acuitted, do they get their money back?

Bail is set as security for the person's appearance in court. If he or she flees the bail if forfeited to the state. Fines are set only after a plea of guilty or a conviction. Laws determine where fines go depending on the offense. For instance, in a rape case some of the money might go to a women's crisis organization.

yes its returned .if the person does not show up at the hearing then you lose the money. in instances like a ticket you fight and you didn't pay it and had to post bail they may reduce the ticket cost. like if you pay $200 bail and they give you a ticket of $65 then you will get back $135. bail money is just a way to make sure the person returns to court.

Bail is returned if the person shows up for trial. A fine is only charged if they plead guilty or are convicted.
