Epileptic seizure. . having symptoms after whats happening?
Hey guys,
So I had a epileptic seizure last night and after the seizure I went into shock. I was shaking uncontrollably and was very tearful also went cold. That settled after a while. But still now I feel very un steady and shaky. My tongue has swollen too not sure why.. but all my tongue and throat hurts. I have abscent seizures and I think this one was triggered by hyperventilation. Why am I getting the symptoms still today. I also have a headache.. ? My head feels light and I feel quite nauseous. The seizure lasted 6 minutes.
Please help you guys.
What do I need to do.
Thanks in advance.

Sounds like an allergic reaction. Run don't walk to emergency.

The symptoms you describe I've felt many times after seizures. It's not unusual when I do have a seizure that I don't feel like my old self till 24 to 48 hours later. It takes longer when I don't take the rest of the day off and just rest. This is just my experience though. If you want to be sure call your neurologist.

Take care of your feet, especially if you have diabetes. Check daily for blisters, cuts or calluses. Wear soft, loose cotton socks and padded shoes. You can use a semicircular hoop, which is available in medical supply stores, to keep bedcovers off hot or sensitive feet.

You should probably go to the doctor depending hon how bad it is now

I started getting siezures for the first time ver about 4 yrs ago.
Im 56 yrs old.
turns out, and it took 2 yrs to get diagnosed, that ive become chemically sensitive.
like to normal things, like house hold cleaning products!!!! its only takes tiny tiny amounts in the air, even from another room!
bug spray, or if they are spraying the fields across the street, too much car exhaust, like in heavy traffic, backed up traffic.
being in a carpet store, all the formaldeyde, bam!
I never had anxiety before, but i do now! lol as im always trying to avoid chemicals.
my throat burns and eyes too. as I said it took over 2 yrs to finally get diagnose with multiple chemical sensitivity. or MCS.
the shock and uncontrollable shaking for me starts as im starting to come out of it...sort of.
crying weeping sighing.
its SOOO weird!
my husband works with a lot of cleaning solvents, like for car parts, and paint too.
at first I was diagnosed with epileptic seizures, but i began to notice that my sense of smell was supersensitive, way more than ever before,'
going into grocery stores was becoming a problem. but i didnt know why.
when i would get to the laundry soaps, I would notice i began to feel weird, just not right, eyes throat, shakey and weak. and BAM down id go.
i began to notice this pattern with other smells to, oven cleaner, certain hand lotions and perfumes, dryer sheets even! I wouldnt always have a seizure, but "pre" symptoms were the same.
thankfully i had a wonderful dr, when i mentioned the laudnry soap thing, he snapped his fingers and said CHEMICALS, MULTIPLE CHEMICAL SENSITIVITY !!
HUH???? what is that!?
I learned there are millions of people that have thislittle known and understood disease, i used be thought of as a mental issue, but in the last few years, SSD has recognized it as a physical reaction to chemicals, that affects the brain! you can actually have a brain injury, from chemcial exposure.
mold in your home, or perhaps in the builsing where you work all these things contribute to MCS.
after years of being exposed to certain things, one day, your body just says ENOUGH!
16% of people in the US and 23% of canadians have this.
its get misdiagnosed as epileptic siezure all the time, get mis diagnosed as anxiety too.
teeny tiny amounts of chems in the air that you cant even smell, o rknow are there can casue a reaction, a mild one or like yours/mine scary and severe!
if this sounds unterting to you at all, please go to planet thrive, you can read, and talk to others that have this WEIRD disease .lol its a free site, no one sells anything!
I hate having it, it means constantly being on the look out, for things, like not hugging people as they have on perfume, or even the laundry soap in their clothes can make me feel shakey.
its not the perfumes or smell, its the chemicals USED in the make up of the products, mostly benzines, pertoleum products, formaldehyde!
bug spray is the worse. even the "natural " ones derived from flowers, its an ingredients called premethreins, they have neurotoxins in them that kill bugs, crazy thing is, its listed as a toxic product, yet sold as a safe!
not safe for me!
I have pets, we dont use bug spray on them, but we were using advantage drops on their coats.
as I learned about MCS, i remembered having several seizure as I was petting my cats.
I may be off base with you, but iam SOOO grateful to finally know WHY WHY WHY I was having these seizures!!!!
its been qlmowt 3 yrs since I was diagnosed, i rarely have a full blown seizures, I can feel it starting, and get away from the area.
one time we wer at home depo in the nursery/flower dept, it was coming on FAST.
it was all the lawn weedn feed chemcials, and bug/ant/herbcieds in the air, from the huge bags that they sell there, and USE on there plants.
ok im done.
good luck!
you can find me on planet thrive, I go by "postal canary" canaries used to be brought into coal mines, to make sure the air was good, if the bird died, they knew there were toxins in the air, or it wasnt getting enough oxygen.
