can anyone name this tv show probably from 90s may be 80s?

i have this vague memory of an old adventure tv series aired in the 90s, about a guy with a strange wrist watch that can do anything. he regularly used it to save the day. i remember this one episode where he got his watch smashed, and when he pushed buttons it just blew smoke. but later that week as a Christmas present he got a new one from a stranger. People spoke English in it so it was probably American/Canadian or British. I recently remembered this and it's making me crazy! Does any one knows what i'm on about?

I study something in the long island cases in this subject rely yet i can't locate the reference. this might sounds slightly at a loss for words. little ones get neural tube defects if their mom's do no longer devour adequate of specific micronutrients. whether it is likewise attainable that individuals have greater psychological ailment by using fact they are no longer safely nourished. there are a number of stuff in culmination and vegetables that bypass away while they are no longer sparkling. and each guy or woman reacts in yet in any different case to ingredients. as an occasion, pork livestock are fed corn, however the pork people ate in the 1950's replaced into greater nourishing by using fact the livestock could have been fed a greater diverse weight-help plan then. So there are those micronutrients or some aspects people are not getting from the noticeably processed ingredients we devour. It sounds slightly loopy, yet there could be something to it.
