1993 Dodge Dakota transmission problems?
I have a 1993 Dodge Dakota with an automatic transmission that is slipping very bad. The truck has 187,000 miles on it and I don't want to have this trans rebuilt, so my question is, what late/later model Dakota transmission will fit my 1993 model with the Magnum V-6 motor? I have to think that new would be better.
I don't want or need a new truck. I want to fix the one I have. So please, only legitimate answers!

A tranny out of a 1996 will work . I believe that is the newest that will work . I am certain that they make a new tranny that will bolt up . Try going to summitracing.com or to jegs.com they sale new transmissions that will bolt to your v-6 . The bolt pattern is the same on the v-8 small block so any tranny that will fit a 5.2 will also fit yours .
