Why is the Bible the word of God?

No, of course not. Ignorant men wrote the various books, long long ago.

2 Timothy 3:16 says, "All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:"

The Word of God is a 'different' kind of book. It cannot be read with our natural minds. God is against our canal minds. He does however, speak to our "spirit." That is where the Word of God becomes interesting. It is the only true "living" Book that can ...change the hearts of man. It is God's Spirit Who teaches our spirit...spiritual truths. Think about that.

That's why our natural mind cannot understand the Bible. It sounds ridiculous. What would happen if you and a friend were watching a movie that required you to wear 3-D glasses. Your friend has the only pair of 3-D glasses and so you both watch the movie, but...your friend tells you all about these exciting things that went on in the movie and you have no clue what they are talking about because you didn't have the advantage of having 3-D glasses too. That is what it is like for a person who has accepted Jesus into their lives as Lord of their lives and their Savior; and, having the Holy Spirit to teach about spiritual things, mysteries and secrets in God's Word...and another person without the 3-D glasses.

God gave us commandments because man had no idea how sinful he was 'until' God exposed man of what they were really like. God's principles of life are universal and non-optional. Everyone in the world is subject to them. If a person obeys God's principles they reap the benefits of His rewards and blessings, Should they disobey God's principles they will reap the consequences of God's punishment.

God put His "Spirit" into the men He chose to write His Word for man to learn. God's Word is His Personal "Spiritual" Instruction Manual for man to live a safe, abundant life in Him.

God is very real and has a plan for your life. Read His Word. Personalize it, because He desires to commune/fellowship with you, His creation. But, we can only approach a Holy God on His conditions, not our own. I have illustrated Jeremiah 29:11-13 for you:

"For I know the plans I have for you (insert your name),” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you (insert your name) and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

12 Then (insert your name) you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you.

13 You will seek me (insert your name) and find me when you seek me (insert your name) with all your heart."
