Does baby oil make razors last longer?

An ad on TV for a book says razors last longer if stored in baby oil. Has anyone else ever tried this?

I know that you have to oil shavers, sewing machines, & the like to keep the parts running smoothly, & it also probably prohibits rust. The later is what they are going for. =] I haven't done it w/plain ole nonelectric razors, but putting drops on shavers (husband's face shaver, & when I use to cut his hair w/the electric clippers, I would have to oil the moving blades, etc) & my sewing machine parts, yes. =]

    Hope all's well. =]
