So two years ago I accidentally killed my hamster and its finally making me feel super guilty.?
So I cleaned my hamster cage and left the little cap on the top off. Both my hamsters climbed out the top and got free in my basement. We caught one in a pile of laundry but the other we couldn't find. Later that day my friend came over and saw the hamster run under our drier. My mom being the person she is terrified of rodents sat on top of the washer while i picked up the drier and my friend had a bowl to put over top.But once the hamster started to run i got scared and dropped the drier! it smashed it and there was blood everywhere but it was still trying to run. So my friend picked up the drier and i got the bowl but because its on tile I accidentally smashed its foot and the foot got cut off. We put it in the cage with the other one for a minute while we cleaned up the blood and whenever we tried to reach in the cage the other would attack us to protect the other one. Eventually the alive one realized the other one was dead and died of loneliness. I feel terrible about it and have been crying all day. They didn't do anything and didn't deserve to die. I'm like a murderer.

Calm down, if this is eating you up inside, then you should speak to a councellor or someone you trust to get it out there. It wasn't your fault, it just all happened in the heat of the moment. I hope you feel better eventually. <3<3<3

it was an unfortunate accident by the sounds of it. i felt guilty when my hamster died as im sure i could have done something. i mean before i went to bed i heard him squeaking. normally i would think nothing of it as he tended to do that and he was fine. so i left him and went to bed. when i woke up the next morning he was hanging outside his house with a bit of his bedding wrapped tightly around his leg.
most likely he died from a heart attack. and even though he was 3.5 years old, i still felt if i had just checked on him and had freed him, then he would have been fine
