Agnostic atheism, is it rational or irrational?
Irrational.
I'm just saying that agnostic atheism is mindf***. You could put a spin on everything and claim that it can never be proven/disproven. You could make up 164553 trillion things out of your a** and claim it can never be proven/disproven, like a Lampshade God or a God of almonds. It's not a rational position IMO. 100% full blown atheism FTW

"You could put a spin on everything and claim that it can never be proven/disproven."
I know. That's why the most rational position is the disbelief in gods (atheism) with the addendum that the concept of any god can never be totally disproved, so we must leave a little wiggle room to say that there is a teensy chance it may exist (agnosticism).

Disbelief in something with no evidence is perfectly rational and logical. However the reverse cannot be said. Belief in something that cannot be shown to be real is by very definition irrational and illogical.
As for "agnostic atheism", I think you're just using the phrase wrong (most people do).
Being agnostic has to do 100% certainty about your belief (meaning you're agnostic if you're not 100%). Since belief and disbelief are based in faith, and a lack there of, no one is 100% certain. That would require scientific proof, which no one has (neither for or against). Everyone is agnostic whether the realize it or not, or want to admit it or not.

Being agnostic or an atheist is the most logical and rational line that we could take - but it is NOT holy.
Existence is based upon cause and effect which leads us to deny 'love'. Even raising children up is an irrational process, and talking about perfection could be seen as a waste of time.
On the other hand religion has to adhere to 'love' and keep on following the path to 'perfection'.

I do consider myself to be an agnostic atheist. I am an atheist, as I don't believe there are any gods. I am an agnostic because I don't believe it's possible to know whether or not a god does exist. However, despite saying that I think it's impossible to know for sure, I do completely reject every idea that man has conjured up. I would agree that any image man gives a potential god is BS the moment it is conceived.

I consider that to be the Apologists Atheism. They worry about hurting people's feelings, so they don't claim any certainty ..
But I just don't see a reason to pussyfoot around their feelings on it. I don't believe in gods like I don't believe in Leprechauns. I don't need to say "Well, we just don't know - there MIGHT be Leprechauns ...". There are no Leprechauns. I'm not 'agnostic' about it.
The same goes for Devils, Demons, Unicorns, Gods - They Don't Exist.

Isn't that what you have just done?
I am an atheist, I have very rational and logical thoughts that led me to the conclusion that no god or gods exist.
You, on the other hand, believe in something that has no evidence at all and has never been seen.
Who's irrational?
Taoist/Atheist (realist)

That's why we're not talking about absolute certainty.
And yes, a lot of things can be proven, but gods aren't one of those things.
We reject god because we use the same principle on theistic claims as we do on everything else.
Theists are the one who are biased, and exempt their claims from critical assessment.

Nice straw man. Agnostic atheism does not need to take into account all things, it is atheism that is rooted in science. You cannot be certain of any absolutes in science, to include that no creator of any kind could possibly exist.

Are you aware that nothing you have said shows that agnostic atheism is irrational?
But thanks for your opinion. Next time I am looking for someone's opinion supported by nothing but a rant, I know who to ask.
Edit:
Holy Crap! I actually agree with Fitz. We are all agnostic.
Of course, I believe my mom loves me, though I cannot even show love to be real. I doubt this makes me irrational.

So claiming not to know something that can't possibly be known is irrational? Stating an unbelief that I really feel is irrational? I think the irrational one is you. Go away and play your stupid word games somewhere else. You impress no one here.
