Sharp pain in the right of my chest when I breathe deeply. What is it?
I have this sharp pain on the left side of my right chest (or it feels around there). I only feel it when I breathe in all the way and exhale all the way. I can lay down but some random movements make it hurt more and I cant lie on my right side at all. I am 16, an athlete (I play about four hours of tennis per day) and I have fitness almost everyday as well. I don't know if I should see a doctor or just wait it out. It has happened to me before but like a two months ago. This was the first time it has happened to me during my workout and lasted this long ( about five hours already).

Could be a pulled rib muscle or a pulmonary embolism. Are there any blood clotting disorders in your family? If not I would expect a muscle issue.

I have the exact same problem, I'm also 16 but its been happening for a few years. Mine usually just randomly disappear after a few minutes. people always try to tell me its a cramp but no, ******* it isn't and it hurts. I'm not an athlete or anything and i don't work out often so i don't think what we are experiencing is a torn nerve or whatever, but i also don't know what it could be. I haven't been able to identify any pattern of when they happen it all just seems very random. I've tried hard to explain it to people by saying it feels like a rib is stabbing my lung when i breathe in too far or stretch certain ways but they don't get it. sorry for not being able to give you answers but I'm looking for them myself and its surprising to see that somebody else has the same problem :/

Probably a pinched nerve from overdriving one side of the body. Balance your workout.
