Why don't crazed shooters ever shoot at gangbangers?
Why do the loons who go crazy like the DC sniper, the batman movie guy, the punks in columbine, etc. why do these guys never go after gangbangers and do us a favor when they commit their tragedies? They always seem to kill productive members of society.

because gangbangers usually have guns to and would shoot back, they (shooters)only go after defenseless people

The obvious answer is because gangbangers have guns too. Notice how the spree shooters always pick a group of targets that are probably not armed...like a movie theater, schools, camp resorts, and places where guns are banned. They're looking for easy victims...just like groups of hoodlums, religious organizations, and tyrannical governments.
