The atmosphere generates heat through the stratosphere. The stratosphere is where airplanes fly, this is also where the ozone layer is. The ozone layer traps UV waves which converts it into heat. The thermosphere also known as lonosphere has temperatures of 600 + degree Celsius temperatures which are caused by high energy particles like oxygen and nitrogen to collide creating heat, this also causes the northern lights. Hope this helps :)

The atmosphere creates very little heat. Most of the heat in the atmosphere comes from the sun. It is not created in the atmosphere. Either the sun's rays hit the earth and warms it and that heat is conducted to the air or greenhouse gases thermalize some infra red radiation.

The posted links are to geothermal processes that heat the interior of the earth. Very little of that heat makes it to the atmosphere. You can get some idea about the quantity by considering an area of land that does not receive any sunlight - like the Antarctic during its winter. That is being subjected to geothermal influences but it is still very cold.

The main source of energy is sun. The most part of energy reached to earth in the form of heat. Some green house gases reflects the heat back to surface of earth. The water vapor is the natural green house gas. When this process amount increases also due to natural green house gases it results in global warming.

A very small amount by oxidation of methane and hydrogen. Other than by such chemical reactions, it doesn't generate heat.

Your link in your response to X is about geothermal energy, not heat generated in the atmosphere.
