Does gaining muscle increase your weight?

I was wondering if gaining muscle increases your weight, I have been working out 5 days a week, 7 hours a day, 3 days lifting weights and 5 days of basketball and conditioning. According to the scale I have gained a couple of pounds, could fat have been shed off and muscle have been replaced with it? I have been eating healthy for the past 3 days and I have started this heavy workout regimen on Monday. Thanks

    Yes, muscle in fact weighs more than fat. You will find that when you get I'm shape you gain weight. And when you begin gaining fat back you will lose weight before you begin gaining fat weight. Also keep in mind that if you have been eating good and perhaps drinking a lot of water you may have gained food and water weight. Either way its nothing to worry about, you are on the right track!

    Yeah it's normal, as muscle is a lot heavier then fat, your weight will be from muscle not fat. Just like the other guy said, he's doctor said he's obese ? But that's wrong, if it was fat it'd be obese, but we mark things differently according to whether your weight is from fat or muscle.
