Why does my phone battery run down?
I have a new Samsung BrightSide phone. It has a slide-out keyboard. I charge it overnight, regardless of the use during the day. I start every day with a full charge. Most days, I simply carry the phone in my pocket without making/sending or receiving any calls or text messages. Most days, I still have full battery strength indicated at the end of the day. Some days, however, there is only 1 segment lit and yesterday, the battery died at 3 PM.
What settings should I check out? What other variables are there to consider?
Thanks.

My first thought was that the first battery charge was too short thus effecting its storage for long-term use.
Those things come semi-pre-charged BUT minimally, that pre-charge shows up as a fully charged battery after just a few minutes of charging as being full when it's not, storage is downgraded in the process.

Screen brightness and the number of apps running in the background are what mostly determine battery life.
* 1 - Make sure you charge the battery completely
* 2 - Keep the screen just bright enough to be comfortable
* 3 - Close all apps that you do not need to be running. Check Factory apps too.
* 4 - Using the cell network consumes more power than using WiFi

Some phone have buttons to turn then on the outside of the phone for ease of use, but can accidentally turn the screen on while the phone is in your pocket.

Check the brightness on the screen and make sure you have your mobile data turned of on your phone because it could be using internet without you realizing
