Which name do you think sounds better?

The name Savannah Jade sounds better between the two. It is easier to remember, it flows better when you are saying it, and it conjures up nicer images than Alaska Jade does.

I'm sorry, they both sound like heroines in really trashy romance novels -- Alaska Jade sounds like Indiana Jones' love child with an Inuit lady, and Savannah Jade sounds like somebody who lives down the road from Scarlett O'Hara.

Seriously, kid, unless you mean to be a nightclub singer, look for a name that suits the kind of life you mean to live. Unless you mean to run a wilderness outfitters' store or a ski lodge, "Alaska" is going to sound a little silly.

Google baby-name sites and see if you can find a name that suits you. And remember, you're looking for a name that won't sound funny when you're 50.
