Rather embarrassing female question... discharge etc?

Well, this is embarrassing! I am a 20 year old virgin (as in NOTHING has ever been down there) and I have no medical insurance whatsoever. I'm having some rather odd symptoms and I do not have a professional to ask about it, so any kind of advice would be appreciated here.

Again, I'm sorry if this is awkward, but I have to ask... My symptoms are: *excessive*, thin, yellowy vaginal discharge (if it has a smell I have not noticed it). Itching. Pain around the vagina (which may be from having to wipe so much).

Any ideas of what this could be? Everything online is telling me it's an STD... I can't have an STD. I'm such a germophobe that I carry Lysol to spray on public toilet seats when I use them, and I've never had sex. Never douched, don't use tampons... there is really no way that I could have anything like that. So what on earth is wrong with me?

I have also been using miconazole for the past two days and that doesn't seem to be affecting it at all.

I'm not a doctor, None of us are on here. But if yu haven't had sex then you are right, it can't be an STD.

It is normal to have a white or light yellow discharge. Even excessive at times. But this maybe a yeast infection if it itches deep inside you. You are only treating it topically with the cream. Yeast is inside your system so it's working its way out.

You can start eating a good probiotic yogurt a couple of times a day. It will take awhile but that works. If you are old enough and have money and all that, go to the health food store and get probiotic capsules to take. I used to use a body wash from the health food store called Dr. Bronners and it has tea tree oil in it. That is VERY soothing for itches and you can use it down there when you shower (I've also used it for dandruff).

    It sounds like vaginal thrush.

Using miconazole topically isn't the best treatment as the infection is higher inside you. Go speak to a local pharmacist about treatments, good ones are combination treatments where they give you a pill for the infection and a cream to help the itching etc.

In the UK we have a product called Canesten Duo - I'm not sure if they'll have this in your country but they will have something similar and can usually be purchased from a pharmacist.

    Hope you get better soon

    Hello!

The symptoms you are describing are typical of a vaginal infection. This has nothing to do with sex I'm afraid, and is a very common condition amongst females.

I would suggest a clotrimazole pessary in combination with a clotrimazole cream, (Canesten Duo - buy it over the counter at a pharmacy) for up to a week to clear the infection, along with drinking plenty of water that will work as a flushing technique. However, if it has not been working for you, the next step would be prescription antibiotic which should kill off the infection completely.

Normal vaginal discharge can range from thin to thick, clear to yellow to white. And it changes in amount and consistence throughout the course of your cycle. Itching, white "cottage cheese" like discharge can mean yeast infection. You don't have to sexually active to get that. But honestly to me what you're experiencing sounds normal. Do your best to keep that area dry and clean, without over cleaning as that can also cause irritation. Stay away from anything scented. If it doesn't improve in a couple weeks time, you need to see a doctor just to be sure there is nothing serious going on. Not to scare you, as it's highly unlikely, but abnormal amounts of discharge, or having a discharge you haven't experienced before can be a sign of pre-cancerous cells on the cervix. But to put your mind at ease it normally takes those abnormal cells years and years to actually develop into cancer, so you would have it taken care of before it ever got to that point.

it fairly is common to have vaginal discharge. once you're ovulating, you have bigger discharge that's obvious and intensely watery. for the period of ovulation there are distinctive kinds of discharge, from sparkling and watery to white and creamy. the certainty that it fairly is obvious with out scent skill that maximum in all probability there is not any an infection alongside with yeast or vaginosis. additionally, each and every time I exercising consultation and get warm and sweaty, I additionally sweat "down there". I basically bathe after my routines and that i'm superb. basically proceed wearing panty liners if that enables the region. It would not sound like there is something to tension approximately. I additionally do no longer think of any guy would be became off by skill of the certainty which you're "constantly moist".
