Why doesn't Trayvon Martin have the right to self defense?

If someone is chasing you down a dark street, shouldn't you have a right to fight to defend yourself?

yes he did, Trayvon's mistakes was that when he noticed that he was being followed the called his g/f instead of the police. His second mistake was the he confronted and attacking in a quite and open street instead of going to somewhere public and and crowded like a store or mall and telling security that someone was following him. Two easy choices that would have saved his life. I am not saying that Trayvon was in the wrong or doing anything illegal, he just made poor choices in handling a dangerous situation. The shooter was not "standing his ground" he was tracking and put not only himself and Trayvon in danger but everyone that could have been hit by a stray bullet. The shooter is the one at fault here along with being stupid.

    Here's the real question:

Why do people like you refuse to admit that Zimmerman was defending himself while being attacked by Trayvon?

I agree that Zimmerman shouldn't have followed Trayvon, but Trayvon shouldn't have turned around and attacked Zimmerman after Zimmerman stopped him.

That is what he has right now in front of that jury with an attorney to represent him!

Be interesting to see if he takes the stand or not. Since he would have to admit he lied to the court about assets to get a lower bond!

    First "pursued" and now "chasing?"

Neither happened. He was being followed. And being followed does not give you the right to go up to your follower and start attacking him.

So the next time someone is behind me when I'm walking down a dark street I can just turn around and open fire! Seems legit!

Being followed does not give you the right to assault someone. I can't figure out if you are a troll or really stupid

Yes. IF you were being chased. Obama's son who looks like Trayvon wasn't.

The "chase" is unconfirmed, but what IS confirmed is that he had hidden, then stepped out of said hiding place to confront Zimmerman--which made HIM the aggressor.
