UKIP loses its deposit in the Aberdeen By Election for the Scottish Parliament . What now Mr Farage ?
The result saw the SNP win the seat with a clear majority and the hapless UKIP loose its deposit . Does Mr Farage now realise that his somewaht myopic and introverted metrocentrics have little relevance in the Scottish political scene .

I just don't understand why the Scots can see Farage for what he is (a posh version of Nick Griffin) whilst many (but not all) English people seem to be sucked in by the xenophobic and politically and economically illiterate bile he calls policy.

You have to remember what UKIP actually are. They're a party that tries to tap in to the anger and frustration of the people. Most people don't know UKIP's other policies, they know the anti-EU policy and they vote for that.
They want to believe that leaving the EU will suddenly make their lives better, that all of a sudden the laws of the land will be better, that we'll suddenly have more money, etc etc. This is the "dream" of these people. The reality of course wouldn't make their lives better.
The SNP do the same thing. Scotland will be better if they leave the UK. Will it? Probably not.
So both parties tap into the better future by removing the chains of the bigger unit. So UKIP are never going to do well in Scotland because the Scots don't care about leaving the EU, they have the UK to fight against.

As long as UKIP gets England and Wales out of the EU, I really don't care what they do in Scotland.
