SOCIAL SECURITY DISABILITY AND CHILD SUPPORT?
Does anyone know if you have to report child support (new court order) if you are on SSD and have been getting extra money form SS to support minor child? And if so what happens next? Will SS cut that extra money for minor or will it remain the same?

It is refer to as SSDI or Social Security Disability Insurance. If you are receiving Benefits for your child and that child is living with you, yes you need to report it to the court ASAP. Now if that child is not with you than some or all will go to the parent who has custody of the child as support payment. See the example below. And again you need to inform the court of such ASAP. The money your receive from So Sec benefit will not be cut until that child turns 18 or graduates from high school. I receive SSDI for my children until the all graduated from high school. As each one left that amount changed until the last child left the nest now I don't receive that amount any more though I still receive benefits monthly. It is a big drop in income. Each year they will send you a letter asking how the money was spent, how much of it was spent and how much was saved. You will also list whether the child lived with you the entire year or not. You need to answer all truthfully as otherwise a felony to give false information to Federal Government. Many do not realize that SSI is not the same as SSDI. SSI is supported by state and federal government and a lack of work history while SSDI based on an individuals work history. SSI or Supplement Security Insurance benefit cannot be received by dependents. Though a disable child can receive SSI benefits.

yes, you have to report it. you have to report any occurrence of added income or a significant inheritance.
irrespective of what happens afterward, if you don't report it and they find out [from court orders or even because your ex- reports you), you open yourself to a criminal charge of defrauding the government -- which could get you thrown off SSI completely

If you are receiving SSI, then you have to report it. SSI is welfare. Welfare fraud is a crime.
