My supervisor has made very serious false allegations on my performance evaluation. What can I do?
I don't mind if a supervisor makes unjustified comments about poor time management or punctuality, but he has written on the comments section that my behaviour is unethical, unprofessional and involves harassment of other staff, and breaching of staff/customer boundaries.
I asked him to provide specific incidents..he refused to do so. I pushed him to do so 3 times, and he just suggested that "a staff member has raised this to our attention, and it is my duty to report it on your evaluation".
I asked him when it took place..he then specified a date that was 8 weeks ago. I asked him why he didn't raise such a serious allegation to my attention...he responds with "the purpose of this evaluation is to help you progress in your career, by improving on your weaknesses. Thank you, we're done".
What can I do?
It's such a serious allegation, with no basis, and shows negligence on the part of my supervisor for not resolving it.
I feel it's unfair to make false allegations on my appraisal, and store it on my file permanently. I feel bullied, stressed, and frustrated that there's no law against false allegations on appraisals.

if your company has a human resources section that is who you need to go to. if not, talk to your bosses boss. whoever your boss answers to. obviously don't go in with "guns firing" this is something that is best approached calmly and professionally by you. it's important you show your best self and perhaps instead of using the term "false allegations" you are better off saying "untrue statements" this implies that your boss has lied but false allegations goes further to suggest you're looking at taking this to court. it's best to go in suggesting you want this resolved calmly and implying you're looking at taking legal action probably won't do that. hopefully this advice can help you, your boss certainly shouldn't be allowed to get away with this

I remember getting an evaluation that I didn't agree with. I knew it would go into my file in Personnel. My supervisor (who gave me the evaluation) told me I had a right to object and give my reasons for doing so. So I wrote my opinions about it and she said it would go to Personnel along with the evaluation she made out.
See if you can give your version of what happened. Call Personnel or wherever the report goes to and ask if you can mail it to them to put in your file.

you need to talk to your supervisors manager, Evaluations are not to be used to correct specific incidents. Tell your supervisors boss that you want to do well, you want an open discussion of the issues. or you have to leave. Your supervisors own evaluation should reflect that he is unable to effectively lead mentor and direct his team.

I'd go to HR and raise a grievance against your supervisor for marking you down without providing any evidence.
