decorating my room alone-ideas help advice etcc?

Hi I'm up for some DIY seeing as I can't find anyone available to help- and friends would be totes useless in these sort of things :/

My parents are old, and siblings live away from home and yeah.

Basically I'm 20 now so a woman, and my bedroom resembles one a 5 yr old fairy princess would have.

I'm a procrastinator as I started 'clearing out' a few months ago :|

and now Uni is over with for the year,

I just need to sort my life ! and my bedroom out,

I can't fix wardrobes etc and have a rail stuck on the wall which tbh i don't mind but just makes everything look cheap and tatty and scruffy.

I still love pink, but not as extreme as it is now?

I want to maybe add in white and black to balance it all out

bare in mind i'm on a budget but still willing to invest in some signature useful pieces!

Sounds like you want a makeover.

First look in magazines or Google images of bedrooms to get a few ideas.

When ready, remove as much as you can from the room--even stuff you think you might want in there still. When you take it all out you start fresh.

The best makeover is paint. If you love pink you might want it more as an accessory than a wall colour. When choosing wall colours, choose from a modern selection--not pastels or children's section. A lot of more grey-ed out colours are more modern than bright. It is helpful to choose a paint colour that will go with a bedspread. If you have a bedspread you like, look for a pale background colour as your wall colour as the safest choice.

Sounds like you'd like to block your rail in. Yes hiding things helps the room look neater. Can you buy a portable wardrobe and take the rail down?

Before just adding in black & white, etc. do look over photos to make sure you have a big picture idea.

When you are finished painting, start adding items back in. You'll know what you really don't want in there by then.

Buy 1/2 meter of modern black and white chevron fabric for £3 at any fabric store.

Make a fabric bulletin pin board, designer frames with beautiful flowers, accent pillow.
